Why I Don’t Just Focus on Your Eyes

How a root-cause, holistic approach helps slow AMD

ree

When someone comes to me with AMD, I don’t just zoom in on their eyes.

I zoom out.

Not because the eyes don’t matter—of course they do. But because age-related macular degeneration doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens in a body that’s often dealing with inflammation, blood sugar issues, nutrient deficiencies, and stress.

And that’s why, in my view, slowing AMD starts with understanding the whole person.

You can’t spot-treat a lifestyle disease

Most people are surprised to learn that AMD shares common ground with conditions like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. It’s influenced by many of the same things: chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, poor circulation, and blood sugar imbalances.

It’s not just about ageing.

It’s not just about genetics.

And it’s definitely not just about your eyes.

This is why I don’t start with eye supplements or restrictive food rules. I start with a conversation about your whole health story.

My approach: root cause, not quick fix

My goal is never to “patch” the symptoms. I want to know what’s driving the process underneath.

In our work together, we look at:

  • Your diet, yes—but also your stress levels, and sleep

  • Inflammation, blood sugar, and gut health (hello, BRIGHT Framework!)

  • Whether you’re actually absorbing the nutrients your eyes need

  • How your lifestyle could be supporting healing—or holding it back

We build from the inside out, layer by layer.

And that’s when people start to feel empowered.

Because it’s not about doing more. It’s about doing what matters.

Nutrition is powerful when it’s personalised

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with advice: eat more greens, take this supplement, avoid that food. But without understanding your unique picture, it can feel like throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks.

What I’ve found is that AMD clients often have very specific needs—especially when it comes to blood sugar, nutrient absorption, and hidden inflammation. That’s why a root-cause approach works so well. It helps you cut through the noise and make changes that actually move the needle.

Want to explore what’s really going on beneath your AMD?

We’ll talk about your goals, and what might be getting in the way.

It’s relaxed, supportive, and a great first step if you’re ready to take control.
